Dr. John E. Walsh,
Jr.
Board Chair, The Kearny Alliance
Dr.
John E. Walsh, Jr. is currently Professor Emeritus of
Management at the John M. Olin School of Business,
Washington University. He received his B.S. degree from
the U.S. Naval Academy, a M.B.A from Washington
University, and a Doctorate degree in Business
Administration from the Harvard Business School. He has
taught at Stanford University, the European Institute of
Management in Fontainbleau, France, Korea and Yonsei
Universities in Seoul, the Tatung Institute of
Management in Taipei, Taiwan and ESAN in Lima, Peru.
He has been a consultant to the Agency for
International Development, the Asian Productivity
Organization, the Asian Sources Media Group, the Ford
Foundation, the J.M. Huber Corporation, the Monsanto
Company, and the Seven-Up Company.
His books include: Preparing Feasibility Studies
in Asia, Guidelines for Management Consultants in Asia,
Planning New Ventures in International Business,
Strategies in Business, and International Business Case
Studies for the Multinational Market Place.
Alexander J. Boome,
Jr.
Program director, The Kearny Alliance
Alexander Boome is program director of the Kearny Alliance, responsible for developing,
implementing, monitoring and evaluating the Alliance’s programs across
Southeast Asia and mainland China.
He has 20 year’s expertise creating business opportunities for
companies in Asia, including Greater China, Singapore, Malaysia,
Thailand and the Philippines. Prior to the Kearny Alliance, he worked
in the business-to-business export media industry with NASDAQ-listed Global Sources’
as general manager of corporate marketing.
He served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in Palawan, Philippines from 1987 to 1989
where he established programs in community development, family health and the sustainable
use of natural resources.
He has a degree in International Relations from the University of British Columbia, and is
pursuing his Master’s in Public Policy and Management at the University of London’s
Centre for Financial and Economic Studies.
