Export Service Center hosts How to Win More Export Orders workshop for suppliers featured in Indonesia Sourcing Repo

Hands-on training designed to improve online marketing skills to win more export orders and to create jobs for manufacturers of home décor and leather products

INDONESIA, Nov. 4, 2010 – The Export Service Centre , a member of the non-profit Kearny Alliance , hosted “How to Win More Export Orders” workshop on Oct. 31 for Bali’s small- and medium-sized suppliers.

The aim of the free training is to provide export manufacturers with essential export marketing and inquiry management skills to gain more export orders.

Each supplier who attended the workshop has a two-page company and product profile in Indonesia Sourcing Report: Home Décor ( http://www.chinasourcingreports.com/csr/indonesia-home-decor) or in Indonesia Sourcing Report: Leather Products, which will be available in November.

“The Sourcing Reports are important components of our Developing Country Export Assistance Program,” said Alexander Boome, Program director of the Kearny Alliance. “They give buyers easy access to verified suppliers of specific products in emerging markets.”

Eugene Verspoor, general manager of Export Service Centre, said: “Understanding what buyers want and responding directly to their needs is vital for export success. Our intention is to help local suppliers develop these essential skills so they can close more orders and create more jobs in Indonesia.”

Gusti Ngurah Suryawan, owner of Jaya Taru Interior and Exterior, said: “Since I started my business seven years ago, I always tried to find a way to gain more access to the world market but I didn’t know how. I learned a lot from the workshop and expect through my Global Sources website I can grow my exports.”

Diana Suhartini, owner of DIS Bali Fashion, said: “I never attended such a useful workshop like this. I didn’t realize the importance of online marketing in improving my business.”

Survey results show workshop value to exporters’ business
The Workshop included three carefully structured sessions:

  • What buyers want: Step into your buyers’ shoes for better sales results;
  • Effective online marketing: Using Global Sources tools effectively to attract better buyers, and;
  • Effective inquiry management: How to indentify quality buyer inquiries and convert them into orders.

More than 80 percent of participants said the workshop was “very good or good”. Other results show:

  • 90 percent said the “What buyers want” offered great value to their current business;
  • 100 percent said “Effective online marketing” was very useful or useful, and;
  • 90 percent said the “Effective inquiry management” was very practical or practical.

The Developing County Export Assistance Program team is scheduling further training in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in December.

Buyers drawn to Cambodian silk scarves and recycled paper jewelry at China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories in Hong Kong

Social enterprise Export Service Centre Cambodia expects orders from the USA, EU and South America will help create jobs for people in need

PHNOM PENH, Nov. 19, 2010 – Cambodian products displayed at the Export Service Centre Cambodia’s booth at Global Sources China Sourcing Fair in Hong Kong Oct. 20 - 23 attracted interest from buyers from the USA, EU, South America and across Asia.

The social enterprise displayed more than 100 handmade fashion accessories, including 100% silk scarves and eco-friendly fashion jewelry made of recycled paper.

Kunthy Heng, Export Service Centre Export manager, said: “We are happy with our triple win approach to our social enterprise: Buyers get quality products and complete service from us, their orders will help us achieve sustainability, and the most important reason is that every order will create more jobs and better the lives of Cambodian producers.”

The Export Service Centre offers buyers:

  • Low minimum orders of $500. This allows buyers to quickly test their markets at minimal investment;
  • Mixed lots: Buyers can offer customers more variety and not incur the extra expense of large numbers of each SKU, and;
  • International standards: Each item is handcrafted and not mass-produced. Each item is QC’d before it is shipped.

Color trend area and Show Highlight feature Cambodia products
Fair organizer Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) again featured five Cambodia products – including silk scarves and recycled paper necklaces and earrings – in the Color Trend and Show Highlight area at the show.

“Having these items selected at this international event clearly shows that Cambodia products can compete with the best in the world,” Heng said. “We are delighted that so many of our items were among the few dozen featured items from hundreds of products submitted for display.”

Carefully selected socially responsible suppliers
The Export Service Centre Cambodia is a member of the Kearny Alliance. It facilitates exports by working with carefully screened suppliers. Most are non-profit enterprises that employ hundreds of hard-working disadvantaged people, including landmine and polio victims, the deaf and disabled.
